Walker McKay Capell

Walker McKay Capell was born on Christmas Eve 2010 at 4:56 pm at Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento California.

Eric and I went to the hospital on December 23 for a scheduled non stress test since Walker was over due (original due date was December 14th). During the testing the contractions weren't anything major and his heart rate was great, but when we went to check the amniotic fluid the nurse said that we weren't going home that they would start to induce today. We'll that was told to use around 1:30 but the induction didn't start till around 6. Once they started to induce it took a while, and I mean a while for the medicine to kick in but once it did, the ball got rolling. After an hour and half of hard manual labor little Walker was here. Eric and I couldn't be more happy with the way things have turned out and to make this day even better we found out that Eric was accepted to the University of Wyoming for Fall of 2011! YEAH! Merry Christmas to us right?

Pregnancy

To be completely honest this pregnancy has been really easy for me, except for a few minor bumps along the way, but really nothing to complain about. I started out this pregnancy, honestly not even believing that this was possibly true and that something would happen and I would miscarry. Well here we are 37 weeks into this and it has flew by. What has made this experience even better is that their are other friends of mine who are pregnant with me and we are all due around the same time. It is so nice to sit around and talk about things that you are experiencing and what others are going through because it makes you feel even more blessed that your pregnancy has gone so smoothly.

I found out we were pregnant while Eric was at work. I know I probably should of waited, but I have taken pregnancy test before and to me this was just like any other, it would come out negative. We'll obviously it didn't. Took one and didn't believe it, took another and I was like ok what do I do now. I waited for Eric to get home from work and as soon as he walked in I showed him the two test and he said "so what does this mean?", me "We'll umm babe were pregnant". To both of our disbelief we were so shocked and me being a little paranoid was like we can't tell anyone, so we waited a little over 3 months to tell people.

I haven't thrown up at all this whole pregnancy, as of my last appointment I have only put on 14 pounds (but i must say that I have lost some muscle), I haven't had any problem with swelling and I have been going to bed the same time Eric has been, but that's probably because I don't take naps during the day like I should, but I hate naps.

I can't believe this pregnancy is coming to an end and we will be starting our little family. The timing couldn't be more perfect for us. Eric and I were both able to finish school, we have more money in our savings, we're living in a great place that has great rent, and we also live in a very supportive ward where we have made such great friends.

I guess to say the least this is what I am thankful for this holiday season.

In the Mail

Today I got this hat in the mail. Eric wanted to get this for me for Christmas. So of course I had to try it on to make sure that it fits. I ordered it on Amazon for $1.99 and even better we used our swagbucks to pay for it!

Below is another surprise that came in the mail. I received a $10 gift card from Rite Aid. I guess I "spent" $25 in their store on certain products. But you know I actually didn't spend that much with the coupons and the register rewards I use. I was totally not expecting this. I just love getting things I do not expect, it makes it so much better. I can't wait to find some good deals to use this on!

The Countdown

Ok to be honest this little countdown thing on the side saying I only have 9 weeks left is honestly making me a little nervous. It doesn't seem like it has been that long.

SCORE

This is from my trip to Rite Aid today. I love posting things when I feel like I get such a great deal. So in this trip I got 3 packages of huggie diapers and lamisil foot cream (because you know those men have dirty feet). Out of pocket, including tax, I spent $20.14. But here is the good part:

In part of buying the diapers, I received $6 back to spend in their store

and

I'm going to get in return:
$10 rebate for buying the diapers
$6 rebate for buying the foot cream

So all in all from subtracting the rebates from my total I only spent $4.14, but if you include the $6 I got back to spend in the store the total would be $0 with a profit of $2.14.

:)

almost 28 weeks

Lets see here
*I can't sit and bend over like a normal person
*I am putting on weight now
*This kid loves to move and night and if he doesn't like the position I am laying in he will definitely let me know
*It's uncomfortable to clean the tub
*I have to stand further away from the sink to wash dishes because of my belly
*I am getting random dirty marks on my shirt from my stomach rubbing against things, and Eric asks me "have I been painting" (lets say dork)
*I actually look like a pregnant person now, not just a awkwardly chubby person
*I'm not swelling, unless I am on my feet for a long period of time
*I am feeling more crafty
*I haven't puked yet
*I want to clean and organize things
*I love using the pregnant card (IT'S AWESOME!)

I'm sure that I could add more to this list, but I think this is good for now. I love being pregnant, but I guess I can say that because I have had a really good pregnancy thus far.

Update, we still don't have a name. Choosing a name is harder than I thought it would be because I want it to be a good, strong name, but not a common name.

We'll time for dinner, bye bye

P.S. Eric says I am pretty mobile for being 27 weeks pregnant!?!

All for under a $1

This is my Rite Aid trip for this week. Total out of pocket expense (not including tax) $4.08 which equals .81 cents an item. With tax included the total was $7.38, it came to about $1 an item.
*Always
*Crest
*Aquafresh
*Herbal Essences
*Maybelline
I also in return (the three receipts in the picture) got a total of $3.50 in coupons to use on what I want. To make this an even sweeter deal you could look at this transaction as spending $7.38 (with tax) but subtracting $3.50 they gave me back, the total then would be $3.88. Which would then make each item .77 cents. (I hope that made sense)

I finished a sewing project!

I made this nursing cover yesterday at our sewing club in our ward. Lets just say this is the 1st project that I have actually finished, and trust me I have started several sewing projects. This was like the easiest thing ever to do. It cost under $8 to make this, and I know these cost more in the store, so it was even better to know that I saved money by making something. I am pretty happy with my self.

Our Stroller!

Today was such a great day. My friend Joanne called and asked if I wanted to go to Babys R Us with her and look at strollers. Of course I said yes, I totally need to go look at them besides of looking at them online. So off we went not really expecting to make a purchase. Well, I did. I bought this stroller for a sale price of $131 and it is originally $220. I was marked 40% off because it was an open boxed item.

Thanks you so much Joanne!

Pregnancy Update

I had a doctors appointment yesterday, and everything went great. I was able to listen to the heart beat and the results from the tests they did before I left came back normal for brain development, etc.

While in Texas my family gave me an awesome baby shower. We received way more things that I would have ever expected, it is a good thing I flew Southwest.

Lets see, I am showing even more now. I am starting to swell, but not to bad, just if I am on my feet or seating for a long period of time. So I flew to Texas wearing pantyhose and had no problem with swelling, I flew back without pantyhose and lets just say I had some nasty looking kankles. Thank goodness that went away.

:)

Help

I need your help! I need some new recipes, I am tired of cooking the same stuff over and over. I am looking for things that are easy, healthy and call for normal ingredients! If you have a recipe that you wouldn't mind sharing you can e-mail it to me at jennycapell@gmail.com or if you have a favorite website that you like you can let me know that as well.

Thanks in advance!

2. Old Spice Deo
3. Old Spice Deo
4. Renu Contact Solution
5. Crest Mouth Wash
6. Gillette Fusion Shaving cream
7. Comtrex: cold and cough

Between the coupons I used and the rebates that I will be receiving the total out of pocket expense was $4 and some change! Yep that is 7 items for $4!

Yes people that includes the diapers. Those diapers at the store would of cost $8.99 and I walked out of the store with everything for around $4, what a steal! Without the coupons and rebate this trip would of cost around $30, and these are things that we by!

Pregnancy Update

On June 21st, I was able to hear the babies heartbeat. I was a little nervous going into this appointment because I was worried about their not being a heartbeat. Well, I got even more nervous when the doctor came into the room to find it. At first it seemed as if the doctor couldn't find it. I think she noticed that I was starting to get worried and she try to give me some comforting words, but to be honest it didn't help at all I could think of was "lady you better find that heart beat or their is going to be mental break down". Well good news she found it. She practically was all the over by my hip. This appointment was such a relief to hear the heart beat, but to be completely honest their is still that worry in the back of my head that their might be something wrong at the next appointment. I don't know if this is due to the fact that we have tried for so long with no luck, or of the horror stories that people tell you, who knows.
Also, when did you moms out there start showing with your first pregnancy? I still feel like I am not showing. Also another concern I am not really gaining weight. From my 1st appoint to my 2nd appoint I haven't even put on a pound, not that I am complaining because I know the weight gain will come, but did any of you have that experience? Also, stretch marks, I lotion to try to help prevent but do you think that really works?
:)
Stay tuned for my next pregnancy update, which will be the end of July and this is when we should find out the sex!

Thursday, June 24, 2010

Well I am not that great at posting pictures in order. Sorry
Anyways, this is a rose bush Sherry (Eric's mom) gave me last year. It came in a little pot, and Eric and I both thought we should plant. Well let me tell you this, I completely neglected that plant for so long I thought that it was going to die, but nope I was wrong. I guess these plants need very little watering. So I guess you can say that it is Jenny proof.
From bottom to top is the order these pictures should be.

Din Din

Eric and I went out for dinner tonight to Black Angus, and it was so yummy! This is a place we would normally not choose but we had a COUPON for a free entree dinner with a purchase of another entree dinner. If you don't do this you need to. You can go to certain restaurants websites and sign up for a free dinner on your birthday, it is totally worth it, especially if you are like me and like to try new places

:)

Rite Aid

So this was my latest coupon run. I haven't made one of these in a while, and I figured I had nothing better to do, why not make some use of my time.
This was an amazing trip for all 5 items without coupons and rebates would have been about $21, but with the coupons and rebates total out of pocket is.... drum roll please.... $2

Lets just say Eric will be smelling good for the next little bit.

Addition to Our Family

(11 weeks)

After about 4 years of marriage and about 3 years of trying to start our little family, we are finally pregnant. We have been truly blessed in our lives and the pregnancy couldn't come at a more perfect time. I found out towards the end of my final semester in school. Which I am glad we got pregnant towards the end because I was completely distracted to whole time. So I was able to finish school and get my BA in Child Development.

Heavenly Father definitely had a hand in this. I will admit this whole experience of waiting and not knowing if I could get pregnant or if the were something wrong wasn't the easiest on me and I am sure I did not make it easy on Eric, their were times where I wondered if this would ever happen for us, and also the question in the back of my "why us". Anyways, I am thankful to all of those who has kept us in their thoughts and prayers throughout this whole experience.

I am now about 14 weeks pregnant and my due date has been set around December 14th. So far the experience has been great. I have not been sick besides just feeling nauseated, and tired but that has already left. I am not really showing, in my opinion I just look chubby and frumpy.

Our Weekend and good news for the day!

This past weekend Josh Capell (Eric's bro) married Rae. They were married in the Oakland Temple, which is gorgeous by the way. So here is our weekend in a nut shell. Friday after Eric got off work we went to Salida to visit Eric's parents and latter that night to Jeff and Sheila's house to stay the weekend. Saturday we woke up at the butt crack of dawn to drive to Oakland for the sealing. After the sealing of course we went into San Fran for a Giants game, Giants won. Then we went to the reception. We are able to visit with lots of family members, which was great by the way! All in all it was a completely busy day, but it was also a very enjoyably day.

Onto today.
Today has been such a great day. The morning starts off with me worrying about if our car got towed because we were suppose to move it so they can repair the parking lot. Well... i go out there and are car has not been towed yet ( it was the last car left to be towed), so in front of the tow guy I get in my car and moved it, HAHAHA tow guy. I felt so good because I saved us a butt load of money. Next in the day I had to take my last final, YEAH!!! And even better it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Lastly, Eric had today off so we went to Old Sacramento and had a blast walking around looking at everything. Today was just one good thing after another, I love those days!

A phone call!

Yesterday I received a phone call from a lady at a hospital I had applied at to work with the Child Life Program. I was way excited just to receive a phone call. Unfortunately I do not live in the state I had applied at so therefore I would not able to attend the interview she wanted to do today. I told her I could be their in three weeks but she wanted to have the position filled by then. These positions I apply for have numerous of applicants and they typically fill pretty quickly. The nice thing is, is that she said that whenever I am in town to stop by because she was really interested in speaking with me and that you never know what might happen in the future.

To be honest I was extremely happy just to receive the phone call. This makes me feel so much better about my resume and my background.

Strange, Odd....

So today when I got home I saw this cat acting strangely. As I approached the cat it acted is if was going to attack me if I got any closer. So I walked around. Never taking my eyes off that cat, I saw somethings else, a little mouse. I swear the mouse looked like it was blind. I had his two little hands in a fighting position to fight off that cat. It didn't even try to run away. After the cat saw that I wasn't going to take its dinner, it then again started pawing at the mouse, eventually picking it up with its mouth and running off.

Two things went through my head
#1 that was the strangest thing ever
&
#2 that their are mice around our complex (yucky)

Our Story!

Honeymoon: Baseball game (above) Grand Canyon (below)

Honeymoon: Lake Tahoe (below)

Dating: Yellowstone (below)

Dating: My apartment (below)

Bridal Portraits (below)

Reception in Gilmer

Sealing in Dallas, TX

Dallas

Eric and I have been married for 3 years and 7 mths, WOW! It doesn't seem like it should be that long. Eric and I met at BYU-Idaho in May of 2006 and we were married shortly after in August of 2006. Let's see here what do I remember about our wedding day: IT WAS FREAKING HOTTTTTT!!!!!! We were FHE brother and sister and did not hit it off at first. It is quit remarkable that we even started to date.

Heres our story (according to me)
So we met at FHE for the first time, no big deal, didn't really care. That following sunday Eric started to make fun of Texas, which if you are from Texas you understand how annoying that can be. As soon as someone finds out that is where you are from the jokes seem to never end. We'll Eric thinking that he's funny and all made a wonderful emprission that sunday. That evening I complained to my roommates about how annoying that is when someone does that and that he got on my nerves. I also call my dad and told him that there was this guy who and I quote "got under my skin". Well the next day, Monday, our FHE group was suppose to go to our bishops house for an activity. We'll I realized that my roomates were up to something. I was one of the drivers out to the bishops house in Idaho Falls, so when we were leaving I noticed that all of my roomates ran over and got in the same car as Eric. Great, I knew exactly what they were up to, they were going to tell Eric what I had said. We'll sure enough they did. So FHE happens, everything was ok but awkward. I confronted my roommates and told them that I knew aInd they just thought that it was so funny. Shortly after FHE Eric calls and sings me this wonderful song that he wrote about Texas while playing the guitar. Me being feed up with this, and hearing his roommates in thae background laughing, went and payed a little visit to Mr. Eric. I had him come outside of his apartment so we could talk. I told him that I knew that he liked me because he was flirting with me like a child, instead of hitting me he was trying to make fun of me. And this was his response... I do like you. WHAT?!?!?!??!!! I tottally did not expect that. We'll it didn't end there. That same night we go on a walk with his roommates and mine, I completely ignored him, and when I say completely I mean completely. A couple of days later he finds a reason to come over to my apartment. Reason: to make my roommate a C.D. He knocks on the door and wakes me up from my nap, I answer, he told me he had a C.D. for my roommate, I said ok, awkward pause and then I rudely asked if he wanted to come in or something and he said no so I slammed to door in his face. Oh you would think that this would be over, we'll its not. Next day he calls and speaks to my roommate (the same one who told Eric I was complaining about him) and she told him that she was going to play in a soccer game and invited him to come, he asked if I was coming and she said yes. They hang up the phone and she told me that Eric was going to the soccer game and was expecting me to be there. I told her I don't care, I didn't tell you I was going. She said that it would be rude if I didn't go, and that it would be nice of me to show up. So I showed up. I am not a fan of soccer. We hang out for a while and that was it. The next day he calls again, but this time I answer the phone and he asked if I wanted to go play catch with him at the park, I said sure. I wore sweat pants, an ugly tee shirt, hair in pony tail and no make-up. Can you tell I was trying to impress him. :) And that kids is how it all started, after a dramatic beginning we fell in love over playing catch, we'll according to me.

Here is our honeymoon: it consisted of driving from Texas to Arizona to Utah to California and then back again to Utah. We lived for a short time in Ogden Utah before we decided to make the move to California. Eric and I love it here, we have such good friends and it's nice to be close to family. Our first year heIre, I wouldn't say was easy. I worked at Mervyn's making minimum wage and Eric attended shcool. If you know anything about California you know that it is expensive. It is a true blessing that we made it, I always say we surrvived because we paid our tithing. To sum up our life here in California, Eric graduate from Sacramento state this past Decemeber and I will graduate in May. We have been extremely blessed in our lives and how things have worked out for us so far. I can't wait to see what the next move will be.

Thanks Shelia

So Shelia told me about this healthier alternative method to making brownies. I made them today and they turned out great!

Here's what you do (only 2 ingredients):
1 box of brownie mix and 1 can of black beans. Drain the black beans and rinse with water, and then add water to the can. Puree they black beans with the water in the can, then add the brownie mix and blend. Follow the baking instructions on the box and enjoy!

They do taste a little different than regular brownies but they are a much healthier alternative.

Thanks Shelia!

QUESTION FOR EVERYONE
So i have the glassware cookware and I was wondering what is the best way to clean them, they have some stains. Tips please!

Update on my "Stress" #2

It is 11:24 and I am finally finished writing my paper :) Eric has already edited half of it and now he just has the rest tomorrow. I feel so bad that he has to do this, but hey I cook dinner for ya, you can at least edit my paper because you are a genius at it, right? I have always wondered why that boy didn't major in English, its probably because he didn't want to put in the work of reading all those books and writing all those papers.
Anyways, thanks for following my little stress story, but don't be sad I am going to have to write another 10 page paper pretty soon. Goody I get freak out and stress out again YEAH! Hopefully the 2nd time around I 'll start a little sooner. Oh who I am kidding, I am a procrastinator! :)

Saturday, February 27, 2010

Update on my "Stress"

Ok, day 2, I have a total of 9 pages with maybe 2 more sections to. I was so worried about getting 10 pages.

Through this whole experience today I have realized something.....

Ok, so today I stayed home to write my paper because I did not want to walk to school in the rain with the computer in my backpack, so I stayed home. I brought the computer up stairs so I would not have the distraction of TV or staring out the window in lala land (I'm good at that one). Well, I have figured out what I do to distract or procrastinate myself from doing homework at home. Well, it's not the TV, or sleeping,or talking on the phone or cleaning (which might not be a bad thing), guess what it is.... EATING. Yep I eat to not do other things. Now that I have come to this conclusion it has explained a lot of things, I don't only do this for homework I do it for other things as well. I guess I did learn something through writing this paper, but it wasn't what I was suppose to learn.

Stress

So as some of you may not know I am a huge procrastinator! I seem to have a habit to but things off. So a few weeks ago we were assigned a 10 page paper and to have 10 empirical articles to support what we are writing about. Well here it is Friday 4 days away from when the paper is due and I only have 4 1/2 pages done. You see, instead of working on my paper I am writing this post. This is my problem, I have an attention span the size of a Nat. You know whats even funnier, I came to the library to focus because at home I can not (I can find something to distract me, even if their is nothing around). You see I am in the library and nothing is around me cause I found this little room and I am already distracted. That is the problem by having to use the computer to write and do research, the internet is readily available. You see I am just rambling on because I do not want to write this paper. I am thinking..well, i have written 4 1/2 pages today, maybe I can just write 4 1/2 pages tomorrow and then I'll have 9 pages. You might be thinking you have 4 days to write this, don't freak out. Well, on top of this paper I have and exam on Tuesday, the same day this paper is due. Oh yeah! I wish I was a more on the ball kind of person. I would rather be out doing things than doing homework.

I am so jealous of Eric. Seriously! I don't know how this boy does it but he could write 10 pages like its nothing, you ask me to write 2 pages and I like have a heart attack. You should see him edit my papers, can you just say pathetic! And when he studies he can have music playing and everything, me I need complete silence. Eric and I were talking about this the other day actually, and he was like why can't you listen to music like techno, and nerdy me said because I would problem start thinking of twirling routines. I haven't even taught or performed a routine since 2005!

Anyways, I think I have procrastinated long enough. But just on a side note, the other day I was thinking how I use to have to hand write my papers in high school and junior high. I am so thankful that we don't have to do that anymore because my grammar sucks. But on the upside if you write big enough you don't have to say much :)

So I went to the DI to drop off a few things, and or course you always have to go in to see if you can score anything good, well I did. This is an old school Betty Crocker recipe file box, it has tons and tons of recipes, so exciting!

I scored some cheap cereal at Safeway, I spent $0.86 on each box. I need to get back into doing coupons, if you aren't doing this you should look into it, I haven't paid for toothpaste, soap, shampoo, and many more things. Once I even got some big things of contact solution for free. You should definitely take a look at using coupons, the site i like is Hip 2 Save.

So I guess you can say that have been doing winter cleaning. I am in the process of cleaning our rooms upstairs, which I might say I have done a very good job. Anyways so I was going through Eric's ties and you will never guess how many ties this boy has....65!!!!! Yes 65 ties. And in 3 years I have not bought him a single tie, I would have to say 99% of them came from his mission.

Amish Friendship bread. YUMMMMM!!! This stuff is so good. I have some starter if any of you would like some!
