2 months

Walker is 2 months, he's 11 lbs 14 oz and 23 inches!

A lot has happened in the past 2 months that I have not posted about. Lets see where to begin.

Here's the good stuff:
He is sleeping longer at night now, averaging about 6-7 hours of sleep. He is talking up a storm, sticking out his tongue and smiling all the time. He's recent development is sticking his hand in his mouth and slobbering all over it. He likes to look around at everything and see what is going on. I'll put him in the bouncer while I am in the kitchen or while I am cleaning and he will sit their and watch me go back and forth, at least it's entertaining for him. He likes to sit in his bumbo when he has a happy tummy. He's not a big fan of tummy time but he's getting their. I bought a little floor play station, and he loves it. Yesterday he was staring at one of the little animals that hang and he was talking to it and sticking his tongue out at it and then laughing, LOVE IT!

Here's the not so good stuff:
Walker had pyloric stenosis. We made a ER trip on Sunday Feb. 13 at 2 a.m. He woke up and I went to go check on him. I placed him on the changing table and then he started to choke, I turned him over immediately and he vomited the color of chocolate milk. We ran off to the ER, they tested his vomit because he was still doing it every time I would feed him, and it was positive for blood (which by the way they still can't explain the blood). We didn't get a diagnoses until 3 p.m. that evening. They performed the minor surgery that day around 4. He did a great job! We had to stay in the hospital for at least 24 hours for observation and then we could go home. Which isn't typical most babies have to stay longer but from what the doctor and surgeon said is that he is not the typical case. Most babies have this around 3 weeks and are unhappy babies and vomiting all the time, not gaining weight. Walker was extremely happy, cooing and very alter. He was also gaining weight and had never vomited before. That is why it took the doctors so long to figure out what was wrong, I think.

Currently Walker is doing way better. He has really bad acid reflux so he is on Zantac. I am not one for medicine for no reason I don't even really take anything myself, but this stuff has made a huge difference. I don't have to watch my baby choke or turn red in the face or scream his head off because of the acid. He still will have little episodes but not nearly as severe as they were.

Tummy Time

Today when Walker woke up we did a little tummy time before Eric had to go to work. This is really the first time we have done this with him, and look at what he can do. I was so excited and he didn't even fuss. He is growing so fast, next step is to get him to sleep through the night. I do have to say he did go 6 1/2 hours last night but we will see if that continues to increase.

Soy

As some of you know both Eric and I were considered "spit up" babies and we were both on soy milk formula. We'll it looks like Walker has taken after both of us. I started Walker on soy milk and lets just say his spit up has significantly decreased to just a few dribbles starting on Saturday night (and hopefully will continue). The amount he would spit up was ridicules. I was having to use a towel before because the spit rags were too small for the amount he would spit back up, but it looks like I can start using normal spit rags and people can stop looking at me weird. He seems to be much happier with the soy, too.

Sleep

Lets just say that I am happy that walker Walker has eliminated one middle of the night feeding all on his own for 3 days now. So now our schedule is he eats at 10 pm and then at 3 am and not again until 7 am. Hopefully pretty soon we will take out the 3 am feeding! I hope I'm not jinxing this.
