Relief Society

Today we had a awsome lesson, from a talk given by President Uchtdorf. The talk is titled Forget Me Not! It got me thinking and I hope it does the same for you.
I need to live in the season that I am in and not want it to rush or fly by. I need to be happy in the moment.

Hair Cut & more

Walker had his first hair cut today and he also turned 10 months. His hair cut was a long time over due, but I just didn't want to do it. His hair was getting into his eyes and growing over his ears. I liked the long hair! We'll here is the before and after...

Before
 After
To me he looks so much older!

Things have seem to be super busy lately with Eric going to school and me working. Eric also has a calling in the Elders Quorum, he is the secretary. I still do not have a calling but that is ok...Anyways, Walker has been changing. He is becoming way more independent. Sept/Oct was a pretty rough month for teething, he has 6 teeth now and hopefully we'll have a break from it...Since he started to feed himself, it is a must at every meal now. He has to pratice his new skills...Walker has also taken a few steps by himself. Yesterday he took two step lost he balance but was able to regain his balance and take one more step. His thing to do now is to play in the cabnits while I am cooking. He'll pull things out and crawl into the cabnit. I love it because it keeps him entertained and happy! We had to child proof some of the cabnits but he'll play with the doors on those.

Lately

Just the other day we had a one armed bandit in our house.
He tried to bust out of jail and a rob a piggy bank
Did he succeed at busting open the piggy bank...yes...but out of his jail...no. HAHA!

Yep this is what we woke up to in the morning. I didn't even think of moving that away from his crib. I learned my lesson, and he was just proud of himself.

So you do you remember this....

We'll now its like this...

"MY HEAVENLY FATHER LOVES ME"
Words and Music by Clara W. McMaster, b. 1904
Whenever I hear the song of a bird
Or look at the blue, blue sky,
Whenever I feel the rain on my face
Or the wind as it rushes by,
Whenever I touch a velvet rose
Or walk by a lilac tree,
I'm glad that I live in this beautiful world
Heavenly Father created for me.

He gave me my eyes that I might see
The color of butterfly wings.
He gave me my ears that I might hear
The magical sound of things.
He gave me my life, my mind, my heart:
I thank him reverently
For all his creations, of which I'm a part.
Yes, I know Heavenly Father loves me.

The snow didn't last long, but long enough for me. It snowed all day last Saturday, stuck around on Sunday and was pretty much melted by Tuesday. Because of this I am trying to take every opportunity to spend time out doors when the weather is good and today was one of those days. We had to go to the park!

"Leaves Are Falling All Around"
Leaves are falling all around
On the housetops on the ground
Leaves are falling on my nose,
On my head and hands and toes.

Snow

So we have had our first snow fall for the winter season! YEAH! Just kidding. I could not belive my eyes when I looked out the window, becuase like 30 minutes before their was nothing. I have never really been much of a snow person, and that could be because I was never really around it. My first real exposure to snow was when I lived in Rexburg. And I am proud to say I only fell once and no one saw. Anyways, Walker really liked looking out the window at it. The good news is that it didn't last very long. The snow started to melt yesterday and is pretty much all gone. I took it as as a warning that winter is coming and that I need to get prepared. So I order some boots that are perfect for the snow and I plan on wearing them to church too, becuase I don't care about looking cute when it is cold.
Thats my poor car in the back ground. I hope our cars can get through the winter!

Much needed

Yesterday we spent our first night away from Walker. We have been wanting to go to the temple and with it being 3 hours away, it takes some planning. About two weeks ago Eric asked me to take a day off so we could go to the temple. He wanted to make it an over night trip because we both work and he goes to school. So we asked Karen (our babysitter) and she agreed! She is so amazing because she doesn't normally watch kids on a school night. Lets just say it was so worth it and much needed. I only got one picture of the temple and then the camera decided not to work. So heres a picture from lds.org

It felt so good to be at the Temple. I can not wait for the temple to built in Fort Collins so we can attend the the temple more, but the temple will not be finished probably until we leave. I have a testimony in attending the temple. I know that it strenghens your marriange and your family. I feel so amazing after attending and doing the Lords work. When I leave the temple I feel so pumped up. You can learn so much from going to the House of the Lord. I am so grateful for the knowledge of temples and for belonging to Christ church that teaches that famlies can be forever.

I Love to See the Temple
I love to see the temple.
I’m going there someday
To feel the Holy Spirit,
To listen and to pray.
For the temple is a house of God,
A place of love and beauty.
I’ll prepare myself while I am young;
This is my sacred duty.
I love to see the temple.
I’ll go inside someday.
I’ll cov’nant with my Father;
I’ll promise to obey.
For the temple is a holy place
Where we are sealed together.
As a child of God, I’ve learned this truth:
A fam’ly is forever.
