El Paso Zoo

We went to the El Paso Zoo and had a blast.
It was a very hot day so I was excited to see that they had a little splash pad.
Walker loves going to the zoo and looking at all the animals.

My kiddos

I love my kids but sometimes they just do things where I must pause and be amazed. To me that are the cutest kids ever but I am extremely biased.

The other day Eric had a dentist appointment. He left while I was putting Julian down and when I came downstairs this is what I found. He was sitting in his chair throwing rocks. I thought it was the most cutest thing ever.
Yes that right he can unlock and open doors. YIPPEE!!

Julian on the other hand woke up from his nap like this. I am pretty sure that thing was tied on their. Maybe he's been working on it to make his grand escape, but little did he know that there were bars behind the bumper. HA HA!

So far

This whole thing of only updating once a month can't happen any more. I'm just so excited with the things that are happening here that I can't wait to share.

This month for our family outing we went to the City of Rocks State Park. It's roughly about two hours away. I was a little hesitant to go but it was totally worth it. There was nothing to see along the way it was just desert and then out in the middle of no where there a just these interesting rocks, they seemed to be misplaced. It reminded me of a smaller, yet not as pretty, Vedauvoo in Wyoming. It was the perfect size for Walker and we walked the entire thing. I am so glad that we are doing something once a month. We have been able to see things that gives a different look of New Mexico.

I was so proud of Walker he climbed this thing by himself !

Smore's, I swear that is the best thing about having a rock backyard. We can dig a whole and a make a little fire and have smores in no time !!!!

I've been trying to be more creative, thanks to Pintrest. These are just a few things we have done.
He loves to do the water and paint brush thing now. And the picture below is such a great indoor activity. We have been cooped up because it has been super windy, and wind in a sandy place does not mix, so the last activity was perfect.

Walker has recently been able to ride his tricycle like a big boy. I can't believe he can do this, I swear one day he couldn't and the next he could.
Also on a proud mommy note, this kid is so smart...I can point to letters and he can tell me what they are. He knows all of his letter except for 5 of them. Also, I have signed the alphabet since he was a baby and he can recognize most of those too. Sometimes I wonder about this kid but when he showed me that he could do that, I think I need to lighten up.

Julian is changing like a weed. He can sit in his highchair! I tried this one day and he couldn't do it but a few days latter he could. He is babbling more and more and is making "Dada" sounds. This kid still loves to be held and cuddled.

This a new development. I stopped wrapping him like a mummy and now he sleeps like this. I can't believe that it wasn't a big deal for him. He only cried maybe twice within three days and hasn't since. He' just getting so darn big and is no longer a little baby he's becoming a little boy.

This is where Julian normally hangs out while I make dinner. But on this occasion Walker wanted to join in. Julian doesn't mind, he loves it when Walker hangs out with him and doesn't take his toys. Wait did I say Walker takes his toys. Yep, Walker has just started doing this and it has been interesting to help him learn that he just can't do that, that we need to share. So now he likes to take his toy and replace it with something else.

I am seriously so proud of myself. I have never canned a thing in my life. We'll that has forever changed and I might just be hooked. I made strawberry jam, and it is so simple and way better than store bought.
CLICK HERE for the recipes I used.

I was thinking the other day of how we all post things of when our children are happy and doing fun things, like I just did, and we might feel like all our kids do is cry. BUT I am here to inform you that not everyday is good day where their is no crying or fit throwing. We have our days were it just seems like all they do is cry or throw fits and sometimes they do it together. Oh the joy!

Look at me!

Look at who is sitting up and not spitting up!

He's growing so fast.
At 7 months this little cutie weighs 16 lbs 10 oz and is 28 inches long.
We just started sleeping without being swaddled, it's going pretty darn good.
(but as I am currently writing this he is crying because he loves being wrapped tight)
He loves to eat his baby food, and is not so much into bottles any more.
For some reason he finds Walker hilarious.
He is a really good napper and sleeps through the night.

The Doings Of A 2 Year Old

Walker has become an interesting little boy, to say the least. He loves to help clean the dishes, he will stand at the sink and rinse the dishes off and have me put them in the dishwasher. On other days he likes to drag everything out of the cupboards, pull out all of his toys and play with the toilet. Everyday is something new!

Yesterday I was putting Julian down for a nap and started to wonder why it was so quite. Then I just thought that Walker probably went back down stairs to play with his blocks. Well...I walk out of Julian's room and see a little funny white kid sitting on my bed, so I had to run and get my camera.

Here is an eye wittiness account of what happened...

Are you wondering what he used...Butt Cream. That stuff is hard to get off too, goodness! At least it tells me that when I use it, that it actually stays on him. :)

Ok I can't do a post without posting a picture of my little cutie Julian! He's almost 5 months and wears 9 month clothing because he a long string bean.

(Natalie, for some reason I thought of Darren when I saw this)

I love getting pictures of Walker and Julian together, especially when they are talking to one another!

Little of this and a little of that

Walker has become such a good little builder. He has to use all of his blocks and stack them as high as he can.

Whats better than nutella and bread? YUMM!

Julian is just my lttle cutie! He is such a talker. I have decided that Walker is our laugher and Julian is our talker.
"Mom this book is for the birds"

I just think he has the best blue eyes ever! Also the above picture was taken the day before this one and his face is so much better! Poor kid. Cetaphill bath and cortozone on that face just did the trick.

Julians Blessing

Today was such an exciting day, Julian was blessed in the Las Colinas Ward in Las Cruces, NM. The blessing was beautiful as well as testimony meeting. We missed having more family members there but were grateful my parents could make it.

Spit-up UHHH

I can not stress it enough of how much I HATE spit-up.

Well Julian is following in his big brother foot steps. He spits-up in the car seat leaving a puddle in the bottom, he spits-up in the swing, bouncer, in is his sleep, at a 30 degree angle that they tell you to keep him at, well he pretty much spits-up anywhere. It doesn't matter if it's breast milk, formula or thickened formula. I don't want to take him to peoples homes because I am afraid of what he might do. I am tired of people telling me or asking me if I am overfeeding him. Here is what he did just after 3 ounces. And this doesn't include what was on the spit rag, the couch or the floor. I would describe his spit up as projectile, but not like vomit, so it is hard to catch it. It doesn't all come up at once, probably a few seconds apart.

It doesn't matter the bottle, how many times you burp him, the position he is feed or what he is feed. This boy is just a faucet and there is no off switch.

Random pictures

Walker has been into everything lately. He is developing a very strong personality. Humm do I see time outs in our future, yep! YIPEE!

He is into building with blocks and is pretty darn good at it.

He loves to be daddy's little helper and be apart of any project going on.

He really likes to help me cook, so on some days we do baking projects that he can help with.

This is one of his favorite things to do, rearrange my pantry.

I love it when Julian stretches after a good nap, I think it is the cutest thing ever.

I also love it when he is sleeping all nice and swaddled. Thanks for the blanekts Granny, they are being put to good use!

Guess who is 2 mths

Julian
10 lbs 6 oz
22 inches long

They change so quickly! He went from a tiny little ball, into a smiley happy baby. He loves to smile, especially at Walker. He is also cooing more and more each day. I love it when he sneezes because he makes a funny little cooing sound at the end, like it's a relief coo (I don't know if that made sense). He still sleeps the majority of the day. He is only up for about and hour at a time and on average sleeps about 7-8 hours at night. But last night he did a long stretch of sleep, he went from 8:30 p.m. to about 6:15 a.m. I was so proud!!! He likes to go on walks in the carrier, and he'll normally fall asleep. He likes to be held a lot or to be able to see everything that is going on. When he is held he likes to be facing outward or he will fuss. Things he doesn't like: the swing, and the pacifier. That's pretty much it. Overall he is a happy baby and we are trying to enjoy every minute of it because it goes by so quickly.

Trunk and Treat / pictures

Our ward just had their Halloween party. They had activities going on inside the building but nothing really age appropriate for Walker so we just waited out side for the Trunk and Treat.

At first I didn't want to take two kids by myself but then I thought that it would be to pass out candy with Walker. Lets just say he really enjoyed putting candy in the kids baskets, he was such a good little helper. I really didn't want to bring any candy home but what they heck, later when Eric showed up we took him around. People asked what he was, I had to quickly think because I am to cheap to buy a costume, and said that he was a construction worker because he was dirty :)

I couldn't get one of him looking because he was to distracted.

A few new pictures:

Also, I made a goal to try a new park every week to see which one I like the best and this is the one we went to this week.
